This article summarizes how to change the security settings on the Edge Pro to block potential hackers.
On occasion, hackers try to access Edge Pro cameras. In order to block potential hackers, you will need to check the network settings and add an embedded firewall rule.
Check Networks Settings
Login to the Edge Pro camera. Navigate to the Network menu on the left frame and select Advanced.
Ensure that WS Discovery and mDNS are enabled, If they are not enabled, enable them by sliding the button to the right.
Embedded Firewall Rule
Next, a new rule needs to be added to the embedded firewall.
Navigate to Mobile Network menu on the left frame and select Embedded Firewall.
1. Click Add.
2. Configure the new port firewall to the following settings:
- Remote IP Address - Any IP Address
- Remote Port - Any Port
- Camera Port - 3702
- Type - Deny
- Make sure the firewall is Enabled.
3. Click Save.
Once that is complete. ensure all port firewalls are enabled.
